  i also was intrigued by the russellites and the break away sects that formed before and after charles taze russell.

  i can only imagine what the bible students were thinking when rutherford became the next watchtower president..

  As a boy I would see "The Bible Answers" tv program produced by the Dawn Bible Students. I remember my aunt running to change the channel because they were the "Evil Slave". That always intrigued me, even as a boy. Why were they so evil? They used the Bible and seemed harmless enough. That started my interest in the history of the cult.

  We knew a number of "Anointed" in the 1960's. None of them would talk about the Dawners. So as I got older I began to read the early Watchtowers of the 1800's in the reprints in the congregation library. It wasn't till I was older and fully in that I truly dug deep, pre internet. I always had my doubts about Rutherford. He seemed such a scoundrel. I gagged when we went through the "Revelation Climax" book,. Every other sentence was how something that happened in the 1920's was the fulfillment of a prophetic scriptures. They didn't talk about Beth Sarim or any of his luxury cars. How did they fulfill prophecy? When I read about the "Princes" and such I knew it was a scam. Took a while But I saw through the BS and baled.

Lots of JW's were convinced that was it. Then Bush daddy said Peace and Security on TV and everyone pooped their pants over it. Then there was the Kingdom Hall bombing in Australia, now that was the whore of Babylon turning on religion, right? How about when the Iron Curtain fell and the "preaching work was opened up"? The big A would be here soon! Of course the wars in Iraq and where ever. Now its Covid,.

  Did you blow in the wind of current events when it came to Armageddon? How about now. Have you heard from JW 's you know how the news has strengthened their confidence in the nearness of the end? How do you counter that, or can you?

  what is the most insensitive thing an overseer or elder has ever said and done to you?

  i have had many insensitive things said to me by some elders, but for some reason one self-righteous elder was always on my case.

  he didn't like the fact that i missed meetings, didn't like that i never went out in field service, that i didn't answer at the weekly meetings and he didn't like that i carried my books and magazines in my hands and not a service/book bag.

  i know a lot of witnesses that drink a lot!

  secret sins people would confess to the elders were masturbation, dating and touching certain areas and anger issues.

  some fathers/husbands looked like model figures until you heard from the family that the dictator ms were horrible at home in more ways than one..

  With so many being self employed and working for cash/check there is widespread tax fraud. I knew of many who would rationalize the government has all the money they need. I know of some very wealthy yard maintenance businesses in that boat. They have no problem taking public assistance and medical either while pioneering.

  It seems without his voice (twitter) he is very neutralized. If he can find another way to instantly communicate his opinions maybe he can remain relevant. Otherwise I think this capitol business has tainted his brand too badly.

  he has a business that kept him involved with the kingdom hall.

  the hall was sold to another church.

  If he is unable to open the cabinet, why does he assume its still full of confidential papers? Likely it was emptied long ago. He must have been a rebel in days past, working for a church has always been discouraged, if not prohibited.
